OTL In London!

One of OTL’s past high school interns, Desiree Etzel, is now in her third year of studying Psychology and Art at Lewis & Clark in Portland, Oregon.

She began interning with  OTL her last year of high school and helped run the photography classes at Migrant Ed program throughout the summers. During her gap year, she went with the program director, Niki Even, to introduce various OTL workshops to a few Peace Corp volunteers in Costa Rica.

This spring, Desiree had the opportunity to study abroad in London and worked with a charity called Latin American Disabled People’s Project. She taught English classes to one student from Spain and decided to take OTL’s Where I’m From project with her, as writing was one of her passions. The student was so pleased with the result—it was a perfect way for her to reflect on her life in Spain while practicing her English.

What a great way to bring OTL to all the corners of the world!
