Join OTL on #GivingTuesday in Support of our Youth Council Program!

Hello friends!

This year, Outside the Lens is participating in #GivingTuesday on December 1, 2015.

Well, we all know about Black Friday and Cyber Monday… and hopefully Small Business Saturday! But what in the world is #GivingTuesday?

It is a day when people around the world give back to their favorite charities and celebrate philanthropic work!

This holiday season, we hope YOU will give back to Outside the Lens to help grow our Youth Council program: an innovative afterschool leadership development and career readiness program for high school students in San Diego County.

We have an exciting reason for you to give this year.

Recently, The Parker Foundation awarded Outside the Lens $20,000 in support of our Youth Council program. And if we raise $20,000 by the end of the year, they will grant us an additional $10,000!

How awesome is that?!

On #GivingTuesday, we hope you will join the global movement and help us reach our end-of-the-year goal by donating any amount you can.

With your generous support, we will be able to expand the scope and depth of our Youth Council program by providing more frequent meetings and new activities, and reaching more youth around the County.

But hold up. What exactly does our Youth Council do, you ask?

Our Youth Council program offers opportunities for students to:

  • Attend advanced workshops led by media industry professionals
  • Lead community service projects
  • Participate in youth leadership events, such as TedxYouth and USD WorldLink
  • Receive mentorship from professionals in the fields of art and media
  • Display their work in the annual Youth Council Exhibition at OTL’s Gallery
  • Connect with youth from different neighborhoods and backgrounds who share their passion for photography, film and media

Our Youth Council is unlike any other program in the area. We are excited to make this program available to more high school students, giving them the chance to build skills necessary for success in school, career, and life. Help us make that happen.

Can't wait till Tuesday, December 1? Donate now!

We are grateful for your support of Outside the Lens, and for helping youth to transform their lives!
