Summer Camp Kick Off!

Like a breeze, summer programs have wafted into the Outside the Lens lab ushering in new connections and experiences for the students, volunteers, and alike!

It’s an exciting time as OTL Summer Camp first-timers mix with seasoned camp veterans for our Summer 2015 programs.

OTL Summer Camps take place in Point Loma and La Jolla on a number of topics including landscape and architectural photography and street photography, and rounding out the summer with a cross cultural filmmaking experience that will bring OTL students to Bosnia for the Mediterranean Film Festival.

In addition to the beautiful grounds at Liberty Station, La Jolla, the picturesque San Diego coastal city, lends itself as a backdrop for several of our programs this summer. Outside the Lens would like to send a special thank you to our partner sites this summer, including the La Jolla Historical Society, The Museum of Contemporary Art (La Jolla) and the La Jolla Recreation Center.

The first week of camps kicks off this week, June 29 – July 3 with Lights, Camera, Action! at Liberty Station where students will be learning a variety of video and photo techniques to create different styles of films. Over in La Jolla, OTL students at MCASD will be touring the museum collection, the Peter Lik Gallery and some brilliant natural locations such as the La Jolla Cove, and tide pools to capture beautiful natural landscapes.

It’s not too late to register for one of our exciting camps and join in on all the fun. We have camps for all ages and interests so be sure to visit our website to sign up soon before registration closes!
