Dive into landscape, portraiture, action, and and underwater photography, and even short films as you become an experienced beach life photographer. Mixed Media
Capture amazing photos, and transform them into unique pieces of artwork with the use of mixed media. We will transfer images onto wood, hand-color images, print images on transparencies and paint them with metallic paints, and make cyanotype sun images. Learn some new artistic techniques and add a new dimension to your photographic work! Scholarship options are available for families in need. NOTE: These camps are limited to current students that attend the San Diego Unified School District. Click, create, craft! Join this hands-on class and discover new ways of using photography to make mixed-media images. Draw, paint, collage, and photograph your way to some fun new creations. Perfect for the aspiring artist or young photographer who loves artistic adventures! This non-stop fun, high-quality summer program is for students in grades 3-5. This 4-week program takes place from June 21 - July 22, from 11:30 am - 4:30 pm. Crafty Camera offers Visual and Media Arts learning opportunities with activities for students to develop key photography skills such as vantage points, elements, composition, double exposure, macro/micro photography, and magnification. Learn portraiture, and mixed media line drawing or join a more advanced class with a focus on building film and video skills through activities such as creating short form video and animation content.

We will create abstract and innovative imagery while exploring the marvels of science. Projects will include using macro photography to capture the interactions between oil, water and color, and experimenting with the relationship between light and shadow.

Level Up: Youth Tellers: Photography, Film, and Media Arts Projects
NOTE: These camps are limited to current students that attend the San Diego Unified School District. Be part of the critical conversations taking place today by joining Youth Tellers, a group of teens who create media on a platform that shares and elevates stories by youth, with youth, for youth. Youth Tellers is a community of youth who strive to make their voices heard through media. You will gain access to group mentorship, the Adobe Creative Cloud, technical training, artistic development, and courses in content creation, all of which will bring your photos, videos and digital art to the next level! Students actively engage in the process of creating, submitting and posting digital work and channels of communication are provided for students to discuss and display their work alongside other students via Discord. Youth Tellers takes place Monday-Friday, from 9:00am - 3:30pm
