Get Involved with Outside the Lens Youth Council!

Outside the Lens Youth Council is free and open to high school students in San Diego County.

What does OTL Youth Council do?

  • Students meet monthly in the OTL Media Lab at Liberty Station
  • They participate in a variety of photography/video workshops with professional artists
  • Attend exclusive youth leadership events such as TedX Youth and USD's WorldLink
  • Receive mentors from the OTL Advisory Board, who are professionals in the field
  • Develop their own iCare Project on an issue and medium of their choice
  • Earn community service hours by volunteering at OTL events
  • Are eligible for OTL's summer internship program
  • Have fun learning and connecting with other students that share their interests

Outside the Lens Youth Council opens a variety of doors for high school students interested in the media arts, and looks great on college applications!
