March Friday Night Liberty recap: The Out[siders]

March Friday Night Liberty recap:

The Out[siders] - Photographic work by OTL students at Chaparral High School

Our students from Chaparral High School had an amazing showing on Friday night with a great turnout. The entire class was present and able to share their their thoughts and visions with the public regarding the show, titled, The Out[siders]. The work was printed on brushed aluminum (a special thank you to Santa Ana's Red Graphics for donating the prints!), and looked stunning throughout the gallery.

The event was a great opportunity for each student to share and celebrate all of their hard work. Their pride and dedication was apparent in each and every image. The group from Chaparral is inspired and energized after such an amazing show. A big thank you to everyone who came out to support these talented young artists on Friday. We cannot wait to see what they create next!

Back in class on Monday, some of the students shared their reflections on the experience of exhibiting their work at the OTL Gallery:

“It was really cool to see our photographs printed and displayed, rather than just on the computer screen.” - Diana Capoeman

“It was a great opportunity to meet other artists and have so many different people look at our work. It was nice to see people appreciate the work that we have done.” - Luis Rojas

“It was so much fun hanging out with friends and family sharing our photos. I’m already looking forward to the next show.” - Joseph Munguia

The Out[siders] will be on view at OTL's Media Lab + Gallery at Liberty Station throughout the month of March. The Gallery is open Monday - Friday, 9:30 am - 5:30 pm - stop by and see this fantastic exhibit!
